Once upon a time there were 4 girls, Wai Han, Eveline, Tianyi and Brenda.
They study in Cedar Girls' Secondary School in Singapore. One fine day, they were told that they would be going to a little
land called Malaysia and staying in Kampong Parit Bugis. Excitedly they sat in the bus, not knowing what to expect..
When they finally arrived, there was a little 'banquet' held,
with fantastic music and the best of kueh.
They couldn't help but wonder what better things lay ahead.
To the four girls' delight, the house was a lovely
and cosy place. Inside was well furnished too, but in a manner that they had never seen before.
More charmingly new things awaited the unsuspecting girls.
The usual bulky cars were now replaced with handmade farm vehicles. The biggest discovery
they made was that delicious food tasted so much better when eaten by hand!
In wonderland, there were countless of places to visit, like the
magical golden pineapple jam pancake kingdom, the endless stream teeming with seafood and such.
However, all that travelling could really exhaust one.
Poor white rabbit Tianyi had to get some shut eye.
Worse still, it drove dreamy Brenda and mad Eveline much madder
than before.
Queen Wai Han also suffered her share when it took a toll on her
dampening her cheerful spirit.
Still, they had a ball of a time. Best of all was the great feasting
in their little chamber!
Sooner than expected, it was time to return home. White rabbit Tianyi, mad Eveline
, queen Wai Han and dreamy Brenda learnt a lot and enjoyed their stay in wonderland immensely. However,to part with the
kind,lovely and very kind people was something that pained them.
Then an idea struck them! They decided to compile their experinces
with pictures, comics and many words. This blog is their heartfelt thoughts that is dedicated to the memories
of the delighting culture, host family, food and bonding they shared- celebrating that piece of wonderland forever.
2008-03-14
DAY 3
They four girls had to bid farewell their host family after having their breakfast. This time round, they had nasi lemak and beehoon. After so, they packed their bags and moved off to the village head's house (?). Weaving many 'byes' to Macik Ros (?).
At the village head's house (?), they played cards again while waiting for the others to arrive. At the farewell ceremony (?), all the girls from both schools, Cedar and STF, recieved a lot of hugs and presents from the villagers, which made all more unwilling to go home. In the bus, all the villagers stayed to wave us goodbye. The village head (?) and his wife went onto the bus aa they wanted to see us for the last time. The bus went off.
In the bus, everyone asked our teacher if we could continue this learning journey after examinations. On the way to Tebrau City (?), almost everyone was sleeping. They must be very exhausted after this trip. However this journey was not over without SHOPPING!
Queen Wai Han sticked a 'PIAD THANK YOU' label, which she got it after buying so much junk food, on Dreamy Brenda's back. Upon reaching our destination, we went to KFC to have our lunch. Everyone was very hungry while waiting for the food to be served. Then, Mr Ahmad, our tour guide, gave us a pizza. Everyone snatched for it. At the end, when the fried chickens were served, their stomach could not fit in anymore.
Dreamy Brenda walked around the whole mall with that label. We shopped for like 3 hours walking up and down at high speed. White rabbit Tianyi was lagged behind. Mad Eveline kept on saying ' Walk faster, must have a sense of urgency', that was what the NPCC seniors (Ma'am) always reminded the NPCC cadets. Hmm, Mad Eveline is really a good NP cadet. White rabbit Tianyi spent about 15 minutes, deciding to buy a white or black bracelet (?). Mad Eveline bought about 15 comic books back to Singapore. Told you that she is mad. Poor Dreamy Brenda and Queen Wai Han went home empty-handed. Next, we were on the bus again, heading to Tuas.
At around 4.50pm, we were back to Singapore!

DAY 2 The 4 girls woke up as early as 6.45am (?) to prepare for the day ahead. However, White rabbit Tianyi still lied on the bed, reluctant to wake up. Queen Wai Han thought that she would be the last to wake up as she LOVE to sleep. They had beehoon and Mee Gorang as their breakfast. At 8.30am, the four girls gathered at the Village head's house (?) and they went to have a cruise down Muar river (?). They took photos and then they had batik painting. After so, Queen Wai Han spent 30 ringgit on junk food and kept on eating chips, knowing that lunch was straight after that. Due to this, Dreamy Brenda thinks the NPCC cadets all eat a lot. Queen Wai Han did not manage to eat much during lunch and Dreamy Brenda offered watermelon to her. However, Queen Wai Han HATES watermelon because it tastes like juicy ice to her. They really had fun communicating with the STF pupils. They went back to the kampong and learnt ketupat weaving and top spining. Queen Wai Han was so smart (AHEM) that she got a hang of it. Finally, they went back home. They bathed and ate dinner with the host family. Then they went back to their room to rest. The 4 girls were so bored that they played cards, which Mad Eveline brought. They played India Poker. Dreamy Brenda changed her card from a 'king' to a '4' and became the loser of the game. Out of the sudden, while we packed our things, we realised that Mad Eveline mixed her soiled clothes with others without using a plastic bag. Queen Wai Han asked her to smell her soiled clothes and she really did because she is mad. They ate a lot of crackers. Then suddenly the daughter of the family entered the room and she got a fright because the room was really in a big mess. She gave each of us a cup and we exchanged our gifts with her. The four girls were so tired that they slept at approximately 11.30pm (?). WAIHAN :)

DAY 1
The four girls were looking forward to reaching Malaysia after departing from the school foryer. In the bus, Mad Eveline just could not stop taking pictures of everyone because she is mad and that annoyed Queen Wai Han. In the bus, Queen Wai Han practically slept through the whole journey and that had given a great opportunity to Mad Eveline to take more pictures of her. White rabbit Tianyi was reading her storybook, which she could not bear to leave it in Singapore, quietly beside Queen Wai Han. While Mad Eveline and Dreamy Brenda chit-chat behind their back (literally meaning).
Upon reaching Kampong Parit Bugis, the four girls might be separated. They prayed hard. Fortunately, they were all staying at the same house! The host family was exceptionally friendly, which made the four girls felt so welcomed. They had lunch with Macik(?) Ros and tried to eat the plate of rice with their hands, the food tasted so much different. Queen Wai Han had rice everywhere on her hands, while Mad Eveline had another serving. Dreamy Brenda kept on praising the food and Macik Ros smiled widely. How about White rabbit Tianyi? She just sat there quietly eating her rice.
Then, the 4 girls gathered at the Village head's house (?) and sat with their friends on the farm vehicle. It was really interesting and fun that everyone started cheering. They visited many kingdoms like the pineapple kingdom, the sugar kingdom, the oil palm kingdom and the coffee kingdom which Queen Wai Han tasted a cooked coffee bean, which to her seem to be burnt, and asked Dreamy Brenda (?) to taste. Queen Wai Han manage to swallow that bitter and black coffee bean.
The 4 girls were back to the cosy house to bath and prepare for the cultural night. Mad Eveline wore her home clothes which has HOLES at certain areas that she had to covered them by wearing her HOT PINK jacket. This was the first time they bathed using cold water and used squatting toilet.
During the cultural night, they were served with delicious local food and enjoyed the performances done by the villagers. However, at the ending part, Dreamy Brenda was freak out by it and almost cried. They comforted her and then, Macik Ros and Pacik Den (?) asked them to go back and rest.
Once we reached home, Mad Eveline had her blue bear-bear pajamas on. They were really tired and slept early after listening to music. They ate Lays that White rabbit Tianyi offered. White rabbit Tianyi continued to read her book.
At night, White rabbit Tianyi heard Queen Wai Han sleep-talk while Queen Wai Han got a kick from White rabbit Tianyi. Dreamy Brenda was shocked when she imagined Mad Eveline had her eyes opened and suddenly, Mad Eveline turned her head to face Dreamy Brenda which her hair all over her face.
